Ayre Manor offers four levels of affordable and comfortable seniors’ housing and care on our beautiful six-acre property in the heart of Sooke. Our complete campus of care allows residents to age in place, surrounded by family and friends.
Services & Amenities
All-Inclusive Utilities
The all-inclusive monthly rate includes electricity, heat, hot water, air conditioning, basic cable TV, and wifi internet.
Three Daily Meals
Our culinary team provides nutritious, fresh-cooked breakfast, lunch and dinner each day. Snacks are also available between meals.
Housekeeping & Laundry
We provide weekly housekeeping and linen laundering, except in independent living suites. Free self-serve laundry facilities are also available on every floor.
Convenience Shop
Our onsite convenience shop stocks all manner of goods, including snack foods and sweets, plus phone chargers and more.
Hair Salon
We have an onsite hair salon for your convenience, offering women’s and men’s hair cuts at reduced rates.
Dental Hygienist
We have a dental hygienist who regularly assists our residents with oral health, such as cleanings.
Hearing Services
A mobile hearing aid clinic regularly provides our residents with hearing tests and maintenance of hearing aids.
Activity Rooms
Activity rooms and lounges, located throughout Ayre Manor, provide places for social gatherings, meetings, entertainment, and physical activities.
Lounges
All our lounges feature flat-screen TVs, Alexas, wifi internet access, and pianos; one lounge features a cozy fireplace.
Therapy Tubs
We offer jetted hydrotherapy tubs with overhead lifting systems to help with pain management and relaxation.
Gardens & Gazebos
Paved pathways enable residents to experience the serene gardens on our property and enjoy the fresh coastal air. Our gazebos offer a sheltered, wheelchair-accessible space for visits and gatherings.
Safety & Security
Our main building has key-fob controlled security locks. We have well-lit parking lots and sidewalks, plus security cameras throughout the property.
Parking
There are limited free parking spaces available for residents and visitors. Wheelchair-accessible parking is also available.
Public Transit Access
HandyDART will make stops at Ayre Manor. BC Transit bus routes #61 and #65 are a 5 minute walk away. Our reception will help make advance arrangements.
Ayre Manor offers a full calendar of creative, social and physical activities for residents of all abilities.
Pet Policy
Residents may not keep pets of any kind. However, Ayre Manor recognizes the importance and value of pet visitations, during which pets must be quiet and well behaved. Pet owners are responsible for picking up and disposing of their pet’s droppings.
We also have a certified pet therapy visit once a week.
Smoking Policy
There is no smoking allowed at Ayre Manor except for the designated smoking area located 750 meters from the building.
Ayre Manor is locally owned and operated by the non-profit organization, Sooke Elderly Citizens’ Housing Society.
Our mission is to provide a range and continuum of high-quality seniors’ housing and care options, allowing local Sooke residents to age in place, surrounded by their friends, family and community. We rely on private and community donations in addition to financial support from Island Health and BC Housing.
